Updated: July 13, 2016.
The 2015/16 whale shark season got off to a fantastic start with over 50 different individual sharks identified between late October and the end of January, of which around half were new visitors to Southern Leyte. A few days of poor weather during the last week of January dispersed the food, and whale shark sightings became infrequent and dispersed around the bay. We are now looking forward to the next whale shark season starting towards the end October 2016.
